AMAZING!!!! Another great add to this rock series. We pick up right where we left off, recording in Miami and the temptation has hit its limit with a fierce intensity. Halo and Viper's "band mates with benefits" plan sounds like the perfect solution...at first. Sinful and wicked lust keep these two locked together with hot sexy scenes that you can't help but want to devour. But that chemistry and burning desire starts to run deeper then they realize. Things are shifting, changing for these two. It's becoming real and they want to get to know each other outside of the bedroom; hanging out becomes dating and old fears begin to surface. With each passing day that Fallen Angel begins to rise in music world Viper is counting down the days he has left with Halo. Halo is coming to the realization that he is indeed famous, the new rules of how he lives his life are overwhelming and eye opening for him. The mix of attraction/relationship vs. dealing with the spotlight that comes with it adds a unique touch here that dragged me in. The band is growing closer too and united, working together to make this new band/album something fresh and inspiring. All the behind the scenes moments with recording, photo shoots and interviews only enhance this series more. Of course there's twist and turns that have you guessing what could happen next, add in side characters like Imogen and Wendy and you want to know more. And OMFG THE ENDING!!!! I can't wait for the next. I voluntarily reviewed an 'Advance Author’s Copy' of this book.
Holy fcking hotness, Batman!I'll tell ya, just when I thought it couldn't get any sexier or hotter than HALO, this happened and man was I wrong!This was fcking scorching. At every turn, nonstop and unapologetically. Hot AF and then some. And some more...It was also fun and sweet but it was just so hot and intense that that's all I can recall right now...All that raw, feral, just pure animalistic, all consuming intensity which sent everything else up in flames and down to ashes 🔥Perfect.I'll keep reading 📖
This is the second installment in a trilogy all about the same couple, so you should definitely read them in order to fully follow this awesome story :) and because this is a continuation of the story, writing this review will be a bit tricky, since I don't want to spoil you about certain stuff... so if I'm being a bit vague on the details, that's the reason ;) but before we get into more specifics about this installment, let me just tell you in general what this story is all about, so the next paragraph will be spoiler free and totally safe to read by everyone, even if you haven't picked up the first book yet :)This whole trilogy is about Halo and Viper :) Viper is the lead guitarist and songwriter for the world famous rock band TBD... a few months ago their lead singer left them suddenly (by the way, you can read all about Trent in "A little bit like desire") and ever since then they are struggling to find a replacement for him... all of that changes once Halo enters the picture... ;) where Viper is dark and sinfully seductive, Halo seems to be all innocent and angelic... the key word in that sentence is "seems" ;) Halo is also about ten years younger than the rest of the guys, being in his early twenties... he's also straight, or that's what he thought, before he found himself being drawn to Viper... :) the first book in this trilogy is all about that scorching hot chemistry between them and how long it will take them to finally succumb to it... *fans herself* to say that this book was hot would be an understatement, so be warned and maybe don't read it in public if you blush easily... just saying ;) now that we have these few basic informations out of the way, let me jump into a few more details about the sequel... don't worry, I won't spoil you any vital details, so even if you haven't read the first book, it's still safe for you to continue with this review :)Like I mentioned before, the first book is all about the growing sexual tention... anticipation and what comes before you make the move... now in this second installment we get the after part... what happens after you both took that step further and decided to give it a go... :) and my oh my... *fans herself* if I thought that the first book was hot because of all the tension and angst, this one is off the charts schorching... :) because Viper and Halo together? they are explosive :) I loved to get to know them more and the fact that in this installment we got to see the sides of both of them that may not seem so obvious at the beginning... ;) Halo with his angelic face and apparent innocence can be very teasing and confident when he wants to... and Viper with his I'm-all-for-being-casual-nothing-serious will surprise you all with little gestures that betray more than his willing to say out loud... more than he's willing to admit even to himself... :) to see their growing interactions was absolutely amazing... especially if they are written in such a phenomenal way... I mean... I already love this duo's work in the PresLocke series they released previously, but I think this trilogy might be even better... *sighs happily* I adore both Brooke Blaine and Ella Frank individually, but I swear, something magical happens when they write together... :) if you wouldn't know, you would never guess that two separate people wrote this gem... their styles blend together seamlessly and in the end create a masterpiece that I absolutely cannot put down... :) besides the absolutely swoonworthy / panties-melting main couple, you cannot forget about Killian, Jagger and Slade... as in the other band members :) I could sit here and spend a few days talking all about the love I have for this story and these characters, but I won't do it, cause I don't want to spoil you every little thing and surprising turn this book has to offer... so instead I highly encourage you to start at the beginning of their journey, if you haven't done it yet, and then continue on with this sequel... it will leave you with the biggest smile on your face, that I can promise... and then we can impatiently wait for the third and final book that is coming live in just a few weeks in april :) oh, and I almost forgot to mention... can we take a moment to admire the absolutely gorgeous cover of this book? :) *swoons* "Halo" had a perfect version of how I can picture him and I was very anxious and more than a little bit afraid that the one for "Viper" will be disappointing... I mean... it's not easy to portray him... but they definitely hit the jackpot with this one... let's just say that on more than one occasion during my reading of the story I got back to that very first page to stare at him for a moment... or two... ;)
This is the second book in the Fallen Angel series and it starts off right where we left in the first book, Halo.Halo and Viper continue to have their physical relationship while trying to navigate through real feelings that are starting to surface. Each is dealing with their own perspective on the situation. While Halo is trying to deal with being in a relationship with a man for the first time, Viper is trying to deal with the fact that he doesn’t want anything more than sexual feelings. As we all know the heart wants what the heart wants and feelings aren’t meant to be controlled. I obviously had my moments of wanting to punch Viper haha but it helps that we get both POV’s so while he says one thing to Halo we the audience are in his head and know how he really feels. That helped me to empathize more and not be angry at some of his actions.It was a quick read and there is one more book coming in the series so any open questions that we still have should be answered. I’m excited to not only see where these two characters end up as a couple but also where the band ends up as a whole!
This one was when the rubber met the road. You meet David and understand why he hides behind the Viper persona. You watch Halo come to terms with an attraction he’s never experienced and also become a true member of an established band.The character development is outstanding and the hotness hotter. The ending was the sweetest thing. I can’t wait for the finale and have an idea for the cover (photo shoot chapter 14).
